Top Home Spa Essentials
1. Bath Salts
Bath salts are great for relaxing tense muscles, reducing any swelling, and can even help you sleep better. If you want to feel extra calm, go for a lavender blend, or pick a citrus one if you need a bit of an energy boost. This lavender one by Dr. Teal’s is my favorite, but their other scents smell amazing as well.
2. Body Scrub
Scrubs are a great way to exfoliate the skin and give it a great glow. Different scrubs have their own unique benefits. For instance, if you want a gentle exfoliation, sugar scrubs are perfect for you. But if you want a deeper exfoliation, a salt scrub will be a better option. I swear by Treehut’s line of sugar scrubs, they have sooo many great scents and leave my skin feeling smooth and moisturized!
3. Body Wash
The next essential that you will need is a good body wash. Go for options that are packed with skin-nourishing ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, or aloe vera. These ingredients are fantastic for keeping your skin moisturized and happy. I personally have been loyal to Dove body washes for years, but recently switched over to NATIVE and I have no regrets. I really love that they use coconut oil in their formula and are free of Sulfates and Parabens (which have made my skin super dry in the past).
4. Shower Steamers
If you want to turn your shower into a mini aromatherapy session, grab some of these! They’re super convenient and there are a ton of relaxing scents out there like eucalyptus, lavender, or chamomile. They are perfect for creating a relaxing shower to unwind after a long day.
5. Dry Brush
So I’ve only recently learned about dry brushing, but the benefits sound amazing! They are great for boosting your circulation, aiding in lymphatic drainage, exfoliation and helping your skin feel smoother and firmer over time. That being said, I would definitely recommend adding it to your home spa set up for the days when you need some extra pampering.
6. Jade Roller & Gua Sha Sets
This set is great for DIY facials. These tools help with lymphatic drainage, reducing puffiness, and defining your facial contours for a more sculpted look. Regular use can lead to firmer, more youthful-looking skin. It’s also a relaxing way to enhance your skincare routine and give your face a natural, gentle lift. This is the set that I currently use and so far it has been an excellent addition to my skincare routine.
7. Facial Steamer
If you’re like me and love getting facials but aren’t a fan of the hefty price tag, consider adding a facial steamer to your home spa set up. It is great for opening up your pores, making it easier to clear out blackheads and helping your skin absorb products better. It will also help you achieve that professional facial feel without breaking the bank.
8. Essential Oil Diffuser
I am obsessed oil diffusers, I literally have one in each room of my home! They are perfect for creating a peaceful ambiance and will make a great addition to your at-home spa. Here is my favorite one, they’ve also added a remote which is super convenient if you don’t like having a ton of apps on your phone.
9. Essential Oils
There are so many benefits of essential oils and they can be used in several different ways. For instance, peppermint works well for reducing headache symptoms and boosting energy. Whereas, citrus oils are great for lifting your mood and enhancing mental clarity. My favorite way to use them is by adding them to my diffuser or adding a couple drops to my bath. I swear by Aura Cacia’s oils, because not only do they smell wonderful and are very high quality.
10. Bathrobe
Of course you’ll need a comfy bathrobe to really complete the spa-day-at-home vibe. I’ve always been a “short robe” kind of girl, but I am currently on the hunt for a long one…so I’ll have options, ya know. With that in mind, here are my top picks for spa style robes.
11. Bath Slippers
Finally, you’ll need some cozy slippers to slip into after your relaxing bath or shower. I have yet to find any that don’t go flat after a few months, but I recently tried these at the store and have very high hopes for them!
By incorporating these home spa essentials, you can create a relaxing spa-like atmosphere in the comfort of your own home. Your bathroom will become the perfect place for self-care, where you can unwind, de-stress, and recharge. Next, you can set up routines that meet your specific needs and help you truly relax and rejuvenate.
